Interesting story, mainly because of his final paragraph. There is no reason to muddle two disctinct methods that describe different aspects of our world.
The author is correctly inspired by the beauty and complexity of the world that he has discovered and his wonder is thrown wide open. So open in fact, that his mind wanders to the "divine".
It seems that those who are pushing intelligent design are lacking truly lively reasons for their faith in their day to day experience and are instead gasping for air while trying to stay afloat in a stormy sea.
