According to American pedagogical standards, students should be clearly informed of the criteria and standards of their grades. Some schools admirably inform students of dispositional criteria, but others use them as a trap for the unwary.
Much of what I have seen in education classrooms is pervasive positive values (moralism) without any way of living these out in daily life and work. After several years of teaching, many teachers become cynical and burnt out.
