Fueled by imagination

Fouad Ajami is concerned about crowds. It is true that a crowd can be the most lonely place, and that lonely and alienated people provide the best material for politicians in search of a crowd.

Wonder what Ajami would say about John Paul II's crowds, or B16's in Australia this summer? His arguments are very tenuous and unreasonable, but very well crafted and clever. Typical of Ajami whom I've been reading for 20+ years.
