it's not the end, it's merely a temporary lull. why is everyone so bent on becoming a doomsday prophet? Orwell's 1984 was originally titled "THE LAST MAN OF EUROPE." Then there is of course "THE END OF HISTORY AND THE LAST MAN." and the pernicious "LEFT BEHIND" books. Walker Percy had it right: what we fear is not that the bomb will fall, but that it won't fall.
