I think that it may be a given among (common) atheist and believers alike that religion is the worst cause of human violence, persecution and war. It is very refreshing to read that first of all these things are human, but that get worse as we try to depend more and more on ourselves as qualified and required to solve the worlds (and our own and each others) problems.
